Dirty Blonde

Growing up in and around Brighton and now as a frequent visitor,  I have witnessed the transition of the town from family friendly seaside destination to a stylish modern metropolis with offshore wind farms, boutique restaurants, hotels and shops, juxtaposed against endless hen and stag party’s, cheesy clubs and bohemian subcultures. There is something for everyone.

The slow disintegration of the West Pier into the sea is a constant fascination and a measure of time passing by. As it ages, it bears witness to a town that surges in and out of popularity, adapting to the demands of the people who visit it. This piece of artwork is a somewhat simple and personal reflection of one of my favourite places in the UK.

This artwork features my own original photography, with elements printed, hand painted and re-scanned in to take its place in a mixed media collage. Each limited edition, hand-finished print is produced using giclée printing, screen printing, acrylic paint and glazes.
