{"product_id":"homestead-amongst-the-hills","title":"Homestead Amongst The Hills","description":"\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eHomestead Amongst The Hills is a new limited edition print based on my home town of Berkhamsted.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eAs with most people, the pandemic had led me to spend a large amount of time at home.\u003cspan class=\"Apple-converted-space\"\u003e \u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/span\u003eThis was a rare opportunity so I decided to create a new piece of art using my usual style of mixed media collage based on where I live.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eIt turned out this was easier said than done.\u003cspan class=\"Apple-converted-space\"\u003e \u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/span\u003eI photographed the town during early morning runs and would then start to put together potential layouts and treatments over a number of months.\u003cspan class=\"Apple-converted-space\"\u003e \u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/span\u003eAs I had an emotional attachment to Berkhamsted and knowing so many people in the town I became very conscious about what everyone would think of my perception of the town.\u003cspan class=\"Apple-converted-space\"\u003e \u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/span\u003eIt was a balance between how abstract and how factual the piece needed to be.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eThe final version which you can see here was my tenth attempt! I wanted to capture key landmarks and features, the rolling hills and big skies of this\u003cspan class=\"Apple-converted-space\"\u003e \u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/span\u003eHomestead Amongst The Hills which is a literal translation of the name ‘Berkhamsted’.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eThere are two versions of the print available:\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003e40cm x 50cm Giclée print with archival inks and hand screenprinted glaze (on the canal).
