001 Lavatronic

During a short trip to Paris after a lone dinner and a couple of drinks I was wondering back to my  hotel.  A couple of drinks and a bit of caffeine definitely open the creative eye!

The first thing that caught my eye was name of this laundromat - Lavatronic (1 Rue de la Fontaine au Roi, 75011 Paris, France) which my teen self would have thought was so very cool.  Then the wonderful teal coloured casing of the washing machines made it a must to snap.  In the carve-up the business name didn’t make it. Instead I decided to expand the depth and represent the heat of the dryers with a palm tree. Any excuse for a palm tree!

Made using original photography giclée printed on to Hahnemuhle Daguerre poly-cotton canvas and Awagami Unryu Thin paper assembled on mounted a wooden panel with layers of acrylic paint, spray paint, graph paper, screen printing and silver leaf.
