003 Shooting Hoops

Brighton has always been close to my heart after growing up in and around the city and it has featured in many of my artworks.  I photographed these two players on the brightly coloured courts one evening and was mesmerised by the energy and drive of the two guys playing 1 on 1.  I used to play Basketball at school.  Even though  I was never that great I made the team for a couple of years (mostly because no one else could be bothered I think).  Playing basket ball in the moonlight next to the beach. What a cool thing to do!

Made using original photography giclée printed on to Hahnemuhle Daguerre poly-cotton canvas and Awagami Unryu Thin paper assembled on a mounted wooden panel with layers of acrylic paint, spray paint and graph paper.
